Lauryn Hill announced over the weekend that she is pregnant with her sixth child. The singer did so during a concert in Detroit on Saturday. She has five children with boyfriend Rohan Marley.
"I'm going to be taking time off to give birth," she reportedly told the crowd.
Pregnancy rumors first surfaced back in April when Hill appeared at the Coachella music festival in California sporting what appeared to be a baby bump.
Hill has five children with her on/off partner Rohan Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley. Their children range in age from 13 to three.
Lauryn Hill came to prominence as lead singer with 90s hip-hop sensation The Fugees, which saw huge success with their re-working of Roberta Flack's 1971 hit Killing Me Softly With His Song.
Baby news still swirls on the entertainment news front as Kate Hudson was the guest of honor at a baby shower on Sunday.
Among the celebrity guests at the party for Hudson, who is due in July: Courteney Cox, Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe and Jessica Capshaw. The hostesses were Jen Meyer, wife of Tobey Maguire and 90210 actress Sara Foster, reports Us Weekly. The baby's father is Muse frontman Matther Bellamy. Hudson has a 7-year-old son with musician Chris Robinson.
The 36-year-old Hill retired from music altogether in 2009 to concentrate on her family, but returned to the spotlight last year.
